San Diego

We were lucky enough to finally get a vacation. Dal's wondeful parents took the whole family to San Diego for a week. We got to stay in an amazing beach house. This is just a glimpse of our awesome week. The drive wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We slept most of the way and Jaiden was wonderful! He was pretty hilarious. His favorite thing to do was point out all the trains and tracks along the way. Way too exciting!
Our first day on the beach. The fam decided to take a stroll to check out the local beach and it turned out to be wetter than we hoped for. All the cousins were soaked and in heaven.

I'm so blessed to have such wonderful boys in my life! They are way too cute!

We made stops at Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. So much fun, yet so exhausting.

Sea World has a Sesame Street area that Jaiden loved. He saw his opportunity to meet Elmo and almost had a heart attack. I've never seen him so excited in his life.

I would love to turn this next set of photos into a flip book. Jaiden ran to Elmo and Abby.

I love my handsome little peanut! He was too cute and didn't want to leave after his photo.

Dal, Jacers, and Jaiderbug.

I thought this ride would make Jaiden sick but everytime they passed by Dal kept calling to me that Jaiden was yelling, "FASTER!!"

My little Lucha Libre.

Jaiden really wanted a baby polar bear.

Our last day. I think we were all worn out. It was so nice to get away and spend time with the family. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life and I love everyone of them.

Face Paint

My friend, Kristy, threw a carnival themed party for her 1-year-old and I was lucky enough to be able to paint faces during it. I had so much fun. All the kids were adorable. I got to paint kitty and puppy faces, a tiger, princess eyes, butterflies, and the very popular Spiderman. Jaiden was the most difficult to paint. He wanted a little spiderweb, then he wanted a blue face. So, here's my little spider-Smurf.
After all the kids got their turns, it was mine. I let Jaiden paint all over me. Somewhere on my face is a basketball.

Mr. I NEED A NAP. What a fun Saturday.

4th of July

Dal got the chance to walk in a parade on the 4th with some of his co-workers from the sheriff's office. We had a blast waiting for him to walk by. I felt very pregnant in the heat and I think this photo shows it. Jaiden loved the parade more than I thought he would. He about had a heart attack when he saw the Kung Fu Panda float roll by. He got a ton of candy and loved all the other things that went by. He loved spending some time with his Gigi(my mom).

What a handsome guy! He looked like he was having fun.

Jaiden was so entranced by everything else going on that he didn't even see his Dad standing right in front of him. Finally, he looked up and said, "Hey Dad!" with a big grin. What an awesome 4th of July! We had so much fun with friends and family!

We are having...

...another BOY! This little peanut flashed the goods a couple seconds after the ultrasound started.

I am so excited to have another boy. Dal is probably even more excited. Before we found out he stated, "I DON'T MAKE GIRLS!" Guess he was right... for now. Having another boy is so awesome for a bunch of reasons:

I can finally use my boy name, Jett, which I think I've been waiting to use since the day Jaiden was born.

It will be awesome for Jaiden to have a little buddy to play with. He really needs a 24/7 friend.

I already have a bunch of boy stuff.

Generally, I know what to expect.

I have a bazillion boy nicknames.

I love to snuggle a little buddy.

I guess I'm just partial to boys since I have a dang cute one already.

Jett just wanted to hang out with his legs up by his face the whole time. Even with all the nudging from the tech, he still just chilled. Will this be my "chill" baby. Oh, please, I hope so ;)
I love his tiny profile. Just perfect.

It's gettin' a little warm...

Ok, it's getting super warm. My three mile walk just about killed me. Yes, I said WALK. So sad what pregnancy can do to you. I used to easily run three miles and now I can barely walk up the stairs. I'm very determined to be in better shape with #2. Dal and Jaiden worked out in the front yard and by late afternoon we were just dying from the heat. Thanks to Gigi for getting this super fun play pool. It's seriously the coolest thing ever!

Putting our feet in the water cooled us down about 20 degrees. It was so nice. Jaiden even started to freeze. He played in the pool for hours.

Thanks for the chair, Randall ;) I promise you'll get it back. Here's Mr. Redneck himself. I'm so excited it's finally summer!!

Back in the Kitchen

(tasty chicken pesto pizza with artichokes, feta, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, & a multi-grained stuffed crust)

I'm very happy to now say that I have my cooking groove back. I am feeling pretty normal other than having a belly in the way. I seriously thought I would never be able to cook again after being so sick and tired. And the fact that another piece of mind has been sucked away hasn't helped either. It had been a little tricky trying to think up meals.

Dal and Jaiden have been pretty lucky boys. I finally started to plan and shop for meals for a couple weeks rather than just buying whatever and hoping I could make something out of it. I did end up spending a little more than usual but I think in the long run it will save. I felt like I was always making $40 grocery trips every week. Now we are eating healthier, saving, and I don't have to worry about cooking.

Yay for the 2nd trimester!

DirtyDash

Dal had the awesome opportunity to run in the Dirty Dash 5K this weekend up at Soldier Hollow. I was so jealous. He ran with some of his work buddies. Jaiden was super excited to go up into the mountains and see his daddy run.
There were so many hilarious costumes...from our Kermits to Nacho Libre, togas, and full on suits. It was a fun sight. I really couldn't believe how many people were there. It was crazy!

Randall and Shirley were kind enough to make the trip up to watch with us. It was so much fun having them there. Dal's wave started at 11. We watched and waited for him to come down to the mud pit finish. At about 11:40 we started to wonder if we had missed them(everyone was so muddy you couldn't tell one person from another). So Shirley, Jaiden, and I started out around the park to find Dal. I think we probably walked a 10K around that place. Finally we made our way back down to where the showers were. It was about 12:30 and there they were. We totally missed them. I'm sad I didn't get any muddy pictures but to give an idea, Dal said he cannonballed into the mud pit and went completely under.

This is right after a super cold shower that gave him a brain freeze.
Jaiden had fun looking over the edge of the barriers where there was a stream. He kept telling me there were alligators down there.

The best part(to me beacuse I was starving) was hitting up the Dairy Keen after. It was train heaven for Jaiden. He had so much fun. The food was great and they had the coolest drink machines we had ever seen. It was a great Saturday! Just what we all needed. And great job to Dal for busting his buns and getting real dirty!!
